Top 5 Items You Need When Working From Home

Of the many perks that come along with working from home, there are too, challenges.

Be prepared to have the essential items that help run your work day smoothly and efficiently!

This blog post lists 5 reasonable but essential items you need when working from home.

1. Strong Wifi Connection

This may be the most obvious on the list, but when you’re working from home, a strong and reliable internet connection makes all the difference.

It’s hard to hide shaky internet. You’ll be the one who’s constantly forced to leave Zoom meetings and step away from the computer, which in the long term, will affect work life and efficiency.

2. Second Monitor

Sometimes one laptop screen just doesn’t do it. Your company may provide you with a 2nd monitor, but if they don’t, no need to sweat it.

You can find affordable monitors these days that are actually great quality and will last a long time.

3. Noise-Canceling Headphones

I have two dogs, and the number of times my headphones have helped me escape noisy situations…I can’t count.

Whether you have children, animals, or other noisy nuisances at home, a good pair of noise-cancelling headphones goes a long way.

4. Wireless Mouse

Using the right mouse can be easily overlooked.

It’s not until your hand or wrist starts to cramp that you even begin thinking about the type of mouse or trackpad that you use.

Using the trackpad on your laptop all day can cause a lot of strain on your hands.

You can find a lot of wireless and ergonomic mouse’s online for reasonable prices.

I love Logitech products and have been using this affordable mouse since the beginning of the pandemic.

5. Standing desk

If you have a desk job, you’re most likely sitting for 6+ hours a day. We all know what that feels like, especially over the course of months and years.

Something I love about working from home is the flexibility of choosing my own workspace, all the way down to the desk I use.

I use this standing desk from Amazon and have found it to be one of the greatest investments for my home office.

If you want to go a step further, you can even add a walking treadmill underneath too!

This treadmill fits perfectly underneath my standing desk and helps me get in extra steps during the day!
